Taras Shevchenko is known and honoured, worldwide, as a poet, philosopher, founder of the Ukrainian literary language, and fighter for people's rights and freedoms. But not everyone knows that he was a highly-accomplished artist.

Yet, over his relatively short life, Shevchenko created almost 1,200 oil paintings, watercolours, sepias, pen and ink and pencil drawings, as well as etchings.

This Ukrainian-language presentation is an excursion through the artistic legacy of Taras Shevchenko.
