LET ME DREAM, an exhibition of art by Tetiana Tytarenko

The Shevchenko Museum cordially invites you to the opening of LET ME DREAM, a solo exhibition of paintings by Ukrainian artist Tetiana Tytarenko at 1604 Bloor St. West, Toronto, Ontario on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 5 PM. 

Tetiana Tytarenko is a musician and visual artist who was born and raised in Ukraine. In 2022 she moved to Canada. She has participated in art performances and group art exhibitions in Poland, Switzerland, and Canada.

Her paintings, executed in oils and acrylics, demonstrate a vibrant expression of identity, cultural heritage, and a deep connection to nature.  Seamlessly blending modern abstractions with traditional Ukrainian motifs, her art is an invitation to feel and remember — to reconnect with the land, embrace one’s roots, and honour the traditions that shape us. 

Among Tetiana’s various collections, landscapes hold a special place for her. These paintings are not just a celebration of nature’s beauty, but a heartfelt homage to the fields and meadows of her childhood. Employing vivid colours and dynamic brushstrokes, Tetiana seeks to share the warmth and simplicity of rural life, where every wildflower tells a story of resilience and freedom.

By merging personal stories with collective experiences, Tetiana’s work resonates with a universal longing for home and a celebration of identity. Through her art, she hopes to inspire pride in one’s heritage while reminding us of the power and beauty of nature to shape who we are.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT:  “As a self-taught artist who came to painting from a different profession, I believe that true passion and the desire to create can overcome any obstacles. My art is a journey of discovery and self-expression, proving that if you follow your heart, anything is possible”.

The exhibition, LET ME DREAM, will run in the Shevchenko Museum until July 11, 2025.  Gallery hours: Mon-Wed, Fri 10am - 4pm; Thurs 12-7pm, weekends and holidays by appointment. Although admission is free, donations are greatly appreciated.
