Learn the traditional Ukrainian folk art of Petrykivka painting

The Shevchenko Museum invites you to a Petrykivka-Inspired Artisan Cutting Board Workshop conducted by professional artist and educator, Olena Chorna, where you’ll create your own artisan wood cutting board using the UNESCO-recognized Ukrainian Folk Art – Petrykivka style.
In the guided, 3-hour session, you will learn the traditional Ukrainian folk art of Petrykivka painting, first by practising the special delicate brushstrokes on paper, practicing with your chosen color palette and then transfering of your unique design onto the wooden board. After final touches and varnishing the finished product will be a lovely, colourful, beautiful and functional board — paint on one side, chop on the other!
No painting skills required — just bring your curiosity and joy!

Tickets: $75 + $15 materials (boards, brushes, paints, ...)
