ARTIST'S TALK: Rob Gill

IMPERISHABLE: Deconstructing Ukrainian Embroidery Patterns

Friday, December 5, 2025, 6 pm - 8 pm

Shevchenko Museum, 1604 Bloor Street West, Toronto

The Shevchenko Museum, 1604 Bloor Street West, Toronto, cordially invites you to the ARTIST'S TALK on IMPERISHABLE: Deconstructing Ukrainian Embroidery Patterns, an exhibition of paintings and media art by artist Rob Gill, on Friday, December 5 at 6 pm.

Rob Gill will present his vision on engaging with ancient, sacred Ukrainian art, uncovering some of its spiritual content, and exploring his Ukrainian heritage by applying various of his own processes to the patterns via painting, print, computer animation, software design, and audio. Many of his animations are joined by music drawn from the Ukrainian Art Song Project which runs through software to produce the accompanying audio.

Light refreshments will be served.

Everyone is welcome. Admission is free, although donations will be greatly appreciated.
