Discover the ancient art of pysanka, the traditional Ukrainian method of decorating eggs using natural beeswax and dyes! Learn about this ancient and beautiful way of ushering in spring and the techniques necessary to transform a plain egg into an intricate colourful object imbued with symbols of protection and goodwill.
Guided step by step, you will use a kistka (wax stylus) to apply melted beeswax to an egg, creating intricate patterns through a layered dyeing process. As the wax is removed, the hidden design is revealed—transforming a simple egg into a unique work of folk art.
